sea of love

a blog dedicated solely to love: things I love:

biking rides on sunny days
good hair days on crummy days
kisses when I'm feeling affectionate
hugs when I'm blue
windows down, wild hair
blasted music in a parking lot
fancy dresses on a cool fall night
bright lipstick and smooches
auburn/green eyes in the light
taking care of those who need you, but don't ask you to
loving love and loving friends
loving family unconditionally
nights that never end
baggy clothes of others
photos with memories
burrowing in a comforter when sleepy+cold
knowing others feel the same
getting off airplanes after long rides
weekends after long+tiresome weeks
understanding without words
poems from the heart
songs from the soul
italian, spanish, french, CULTURE, National Geographic
carving a path on your own
looking forward to where you're going
making lists like this
remembering what is most important

the end, for now
always loving new things

fresh smell not so fresh

crushed coffee beans and nicotine
makes your lungs burn black
smell is good, health is not
why do such a thing to yourself?
use it as a cute little crutch
"because it releaves my stress"
good while you're having a smoke break
inhaling deep into a buzzed unconsious
feeling shitty the moment to squash that little butt
sparks fly and maybe you realize...
why the fuck do I do this?
because I'm young and look and sound just like them...
Bob Dylan, Andy Warhol, dear Janis Joplin
it's good for now, like a tattoo
cute and individual at age 18
old, wrinkly, and fallen at 59
I hope you learn your lesson, dear self
that it doesn't matter who you look like
flalling that stick in the air with graceful wisps of smokey air
reminding you about the life of a parisian girl

THE END!

as I always do

I have a new song, as I always do:
New Terrain by Mew

I bought their newest album today, and I am 110% blown away. I've listened to it through, atleast three or four times. It's so good, I cannot believe myself. Please listen to it, if you like inspirational music, seriously. So much has happened in my life, that's why I never blog anymore. Plus, I doubt anyone actually reads this; if so, thank you! I just need to lay my thoughts to rest somewhere, whichever ones they may be. I've come to realize exactly what I want to do in my life. It's called being ME. Cliche, I know. But things are always changing, so how does one keep their identity? The new project: attain the mind and persona I love and can be proud of, and keep it through all the tosses of life. Fascinating? I think so. There's just so much to do with it... Philosophy, photography, art history, creative writing, radio, poetry, travel writing, ETC. I could be happy in so many places, truely. And WORLD RELIGIONS AND SOCIOLOGY. Schools? East coast city please. Bored to Death with my favorite, Jason Schwartzman, premiers NOW. I'll get back at you later, the phone rings.

Operation Ceasefire:

Have you ever heard of it? No? Well look it up! It's a fascinating concept really.
http://ojjdp.ncjrs.org/pubs/gun_violence/profile21.html

There's a link for you kids who want to read about it. It might change your perspective on war and youth violence. Food Not Bombs is hosting another event next week, and I cannot wait! It's fun, informative, and worldly. I care about the world and want to leave my mark in a positive light. Right now my sun tea is brewing, how hippie have I become? It's so silly to label, but it happens without a thought in mind. People label because they want a comfort zone with people they have sincere similarities. For me, I have an interesting time getting along with people that have different believe systems than my own, but I always try to make it work. Maybe the effort is concentrated in one person, but it doesn't matter. I had a lovely evening last night with a wonderful person, that is all I really have to say. For now, I need to do my Comparative Government assignment, a paper a day, ladies and gentlemen! PS I head to Philly soon, I CANNOT WAIT! Talk to you all later, gatorz

and I may have used this image before, but it's my favorite of all time:

I can't get over it's beauty.
PPS I got my friend Becky up here on the blogosphere, it's so funny! She writes beautifully and with insight, so check her page out... Bye for now!

Sweet Disposition

Where have I been?
Where have you been?
A big question in itself
Numerous answers, it depends on the nature of an answer you want
Not making sense over here
Probably because I'm listening to Of Montreal right now? Skeletal Lamping
So so so good!
I want to share with all of you who read.. which is a small number
My summer playlist, it's filled with a bunch of songs I've obsessed over this year
Granted not all of them, because my fav song is constantly changing
I bought Matt&Kim (Grand) and The Clash (From Here to Eternity) just the other day
All for $15, can you say bargain?
I woke up this morning and threw a dress on, for the hell of it
Putting my best face on for the day is my new goal
Much to do in two little weeks, but it'll pan out!
Much of my time has been spent on the red line metro.. Dupont and Adams
Real World House in DC! LOL!
Okay enough bullshit, here's the playlist:

Life in Technicolor- Coldplay
Moth's Wings- Passion Pit
Sweet Disposition- Temper Trap
Death to Los Campesinos- Los Campesinos!
Wonderful- Gary Go
Starlight- Muse
Ghost Under Rocks- Ra Ra Riot
Xavier (Remix)- The Submarines
Teenagers- My Chemical Romance
Poker Face- Lady Ga Ga
Evident Utensil- Chairlift
Kelly- Van She
Lovers in Japan/Reign of Love- Coldplay
Laura- Scissor Sisters
Nightimming- Coconut Records
Wraith Pinned to the Mist and Other Games- Of Montreal
Summer Grof-
Sentimental Heart- She & Him
I've Just Seen a Face- Across the Universe/ Jim Sturgess
Chinese Translation- M.Ward

It's a really odd mix, and this is a really long post, jeez. That leads me to say goodbye, but I also like to leave you with a photo, so here it is.

It's silly, I'm all smiles, people.
PS check out Food Not Bombs, I went to an event of theirs the other night, it was incredible. Imagine SOLAR BREAD AND A STEP TOWARDS NO WORLD HUNGER!

So turn it up

Hii I haven't posted in a very long time
That typically would mean that a shitload has happened
And yes, that's an understandment really
or atleast for me, and my standards of my life :]
It's been great, really
I just got home from New York: Albany, NYC, Manhattan, Bronyx, et cetera
It was beautiful, and a self-medication in itself
With my sister and mother
I have so many adventures and photos to display
Much of it was driving, but that alone was great
Here's one that I particularly enjoy, not even a smoker really but here:
Ports
Thoughts? I enjoy the color scheme really. But that's the length of it. I hate those things pretty much. Here are some words and insights I've thought of, and I'm back to working today and a show outdoors tonight. :]
No longer wasting time
However classifying "waste"
Varies from being to being
Brain to brain
Cup to cup
On this goes
I look at it
Little is truely waste
Most take the little pieces of "rubbish"
and take the for GRANTED
I know I've done that
But try to no more, it's not fair to me and all I've learned
The best of my ability is in it
Oh I hate HS, but I've found some tiny gems
People places activities to truely care for
Just need to remember
And grasp it tightly

Makes me think of the film I saw two weeks ago: Whatever Works by Woody Allen
Saw with Kellie, was great holla! Much AP work to cover, so goodbye. Talk to me about my job later, working 3-7 I think.
Bye!
