Operation Ceasefire:

Have you ever heard of it? No? Well look it up! It's a fascinating concept really.
http://ojjdp.ncjrs.org/pubs/gun_violence/profile21.html

There's a link for you kids who want to read about it. It might change your perspective on war and youth violence. Food Not Bombs is hosting another event next week, and I cannot wait! It's fun, informative, and worldly. I care about the world and want to leave my mark in a positive light. Right now my sun tea is brewing, how hippie have I become? It's so silly to label, but it happens without a thought in mind. People label because they want a comfort zone with people they have sincere similarities. For me, I have an interesting time getting along with people that have different believe systems than my own, but I always try to make it work. Maybe the effort is concentrated in one person, but it doesn't matter. I had a lovely evening last night with a wonderful person, that is all I really have to say. For now, I need to do my Comparative Government assignment, a paper a day, ladies and gentlemen! PS I head to Philly soon, I CANNOT WAIT! Talk to you all later, gatorz

Sweet Disposition

Where have I been?
Where have you been?
A big question in itself
Numerous answers, it depends on the nature of an answer you want
Not making sense over here
Probably because I'm listening to Of Montreal right now? Skeletal Lamping
So so so good!
I want to share with all of you who read.. which is a small number
My summer playlist, it's filled with a bunch of songs I've obsessed over this year
Granted not all of them, because my fav song is constantly changing
I bought Matt&Kim (Grand) and The Clash (From Here to Eternity) just the other day
All for $15, can you say bargain?
I woke up this morning and threw a dress on, for the hell of it
Putting my best face on for the day is my new goal
Much to do in two little weeks, but it'll pan out!
Much of my time has been spent on the red line metro.. Dupont and Adams
Real World House in DC! LOL!
Okay enough bullshit, here's the playlist:

Life in Technicolor- Coldplay
Moth's Wings- Passion Pit
Sweet Disposition- Temper Trap
Death to Los Campesinos- Los Campesinos!
Wonderful- Gary Go
Starlight- Muse
Ghost Under Rocks- Ra Ra Riot
Xavier (Remix)- The Submarines
Teenagers- My Chemical Romance
Poker Face- Lady Ga Ga
Evident Utensil- Chairlift
Kelly- Van She
Lovers in Japan/Reign of Love- Coldplay
Laura- Scissor Sisters
Nightimming- Coconut Records
Wraith Pinned to the Mist and Other Games- Of Montreal
Summer Grof-
Sentimental Heart- She & Him
I've Just Seen a Face- Across the Universe/ Jim Sturgess
Chinese Translation- M.Ward

It's a really odd mix, and this is a really long post, jeez. That leads me to say goodbye, but I also like to leave you with a photo, so here it is.

It's silly, I'm all smiles, people.
PS check out Food Not Bombs, I went to an event of theirs the other night, it was incredible. Imagine SOLAR BREAD AND A STEP TOWARDS NO WORLD HUNGER!

So turn it up

Hii I haven't posted in a very long time
That typically would mean that a shitload has happened
And yes, that's an understandment really
or atleast for me, and my standards of my life :]
It's been great, really
I just got home from New York: Albany, NYC, Manhattan, Bronyx, et cetera
It was beautiful, and a self-medication in itself
With my sister and mother
I have so many adventures and photos to display
Much of it was driving, but that alone was great
Here's one that I particularly enjoy, not even a smoker really but here:
Ports
Thoughts? I enjoy the color scheme really. But that's the length of it. I hate those things pretty much. Here are some words and insights I've thought of, and I'm back to working today and a show outdoors tonight. :]
No longer wasting time
However classifying "waste"
Varies from being to being
Brain to brain
Cup to cup
On this goes
I look at it
Little is truely waste
Most take the little pieces of "rubbish"
and take the for GRANTED
I know I've done that
But try to no more, it's not fair to me and all I've learned
The best of my ability is in it
Oh I hate HS, but I've found some tiny gems
People places activities to truely care for
Just need to remember
And grasp it tightly

Makes me think of the film I saw two weeks ago: Whatever Works by Woody Allen
Saw with Kellie, was great holla! Much AP work to cover, so goodbye. Talk to me about my job later, working 3-7 I think.
Bye!

yes? no?

ohidono!

yesnoyesnoyesnoyesnoyesno
yesyesnoyesyesnoyesyesnoyesyes
nonoyesnonoyesnonoyesnonoes

three letters or two?
I know which is the easier
but also which is the prize
and the one that is truely wanted
so take a plunge
into something unknown and unexpected
fall deep into an untouched pool
broken glass marble surface
SHATTERED
it's probably a good thing
and unseen abyss
makes me think of you
and him
and her
and we
all together
living life and diving into that territory
once frozen solid and tremendously terrifying

"I Love the Unknown" Clem Snide
So good!

THE METRIC/SEBASTIAN GRAINGER/SMILE SMILE SHOW BLEW MY FUCKING MIND LAST NIGHT! It was so damn good, i can't get over it. Emily Haines is such a beauty. As are the others. I loved that the bassits family came along the tour for a ride; and they got their recognition. It was completely awesome. Best summer show thus far, but i have another tonight! Rock N Roll Hotel anyone? Nightmare of You with Pushgun! Sooo good! Alrightly, peace my lovers. Garden party tonight! Loco hair on my head, i dyed it last night! Maybe a photo later? Of the show too and maybe the garden party. Happy birthday krystel and kellie! I love the two of you!

Hitting a new techno beat

BLACK PANTHER- CRYSTAL CASTLES
Such a fucking good song, I am repeating it. The video is also fucking tight, anyone and everyone needs to check it out!

I just felt something beautiful, that I've never felt before. It makes me tremendously happy. That is firstly, my new favorite word. Moving forward.. it pertains to my writing. I shared some of my poetry here before, and a lovely friend of mine, Marielle to be exact, read it. She is such an eloquent writer, and decided to pick up the pen again. As far as I've gathered, she hasn't been writing lately and the fact that someone has begun again to do something she is so passionate about makes me so glad and appreciative that my personal art can do something more that selfishly be on display. I want work that will impact others and inspire then to do something so out of their own world. Because I haven't fully explored that until recently. Or atleast without fear of reciprocating or fear of what my work may mean to others.

Also, my best friend Shireen, a lovely Iranian girl, told me she found a letter. Yes, a letter. From last summer. She wrote it in hopes of suprising me, but she forgot to send it! So the old soul that I am, decided to write her one. I love letters and I think it's the best sort of contact other then direct conversation. I feel like so many emotions can be poured onto a piece of paper. So I did that, and I reminded her how much she truely means to me. I mentioned every little detail of our three-year friendship; especially the little, miniscule joys she has given me. We've shared so much with one another and it is the only way I could imagine telling her without seeing her. So I folded it up and mailed it to her in a yellow envelope, with her name in blue marker. She called me not too long ago, with a sweet little quiver in her voice. It meant the world that my words could be understood and felt by someone else.

I want for people to know how much they mean to me, and for them to know that they are never just an object to me, they are always more than that. People and relationships are fragile and difficult to care for. And to those that I love, I am forever greatful that we can both give each other so much. I plan on fostering the ones that mean the most to me for as long as I may. It's also a two way street, and I know that you know that.

That is all, I'm done being a sop and pouring my soul all over a blog. I don't usually do thing, but dash it, who really cares? Only some of my friends read this anyways so pfft.

PS, I've had a nice few days lately, Meghan's 17th was on saturday, followed by a (not) so sleepover, in which we talked until five in the morning. Then in the morning after cleaning myself and the house up, I was picked up by a friendly stranger. Yes, you. We went to go get coffee in georgetown at Saxby's and to Barnes & Noble. After hours spent and alot of money spent, I was driven home for the evening. I helped cook, yada yada. On monday, I slept uber late, then read read read! I finished by book and it made me cry! The Elegance of the Hedgehog, what a fucking fantastic book. Yesterday, I went around the stadium and got coffee with my sister. Hopped onto the train to Braddock, and went to a doctors checkup. When home, I cooked a delicious Plum stirfry with my sister, and then went out with Molly! We went to Dupont, and had an incredible time. We ate, she ate I mean, because she paid. At Chipotle! It was so yummy. And then we walked through a smokey park and walked clear to Georgetown by the river. It was a stunning and beautiful night. Then to Rosslyn. It was soo nice. Today, I was picked up by Clara and Daniel. We went to Georgetown and got sushi on the canal street. It was soo yummy and peaceful. Then I bought my hairdye, you'll see kiddos! And then we drove Clara home and Dan and I went to Katie's. Sorry I am talking so much. We jammed for a little, and created some silly songs. We recorded and it was a great time. He drove me to the metro, I came home, ordered PIZZZZZZZZZZZZA, dominoes! And watched jeopardy. Yes, we are a big jeopardy family. And then a hilarious Japanese game show. Then I cleaned my nasty rooom. Now it's nice. I am still listening to this great song, I can't get over it. That is all, goodnight folks, talk to youz later! PS i can't wait for friday and the weekend!

Guitar strums in my ear, more importantly my pysche

A song
a beat
a thump
a pluck
a verse
a word
a phrase
a thought
a question:
running, running
deep through the coils of my brain
passing through ateries
challenging my heart
really really too much
but really really
intruiging
what does that one question do?
evoke pain, memories, and reality?
or does it allow reflection
so neccessary to understand
experiences once uncomprehendible
thumping, beating, asking
for the answer!
am i jumping or am i falling?
jumping or crashing?
it's up to you
and the given point in time
Thank you.

This question just popped up spamming, "Do you smell like Edward Cullen?" Haha I am laughing so much right now. Can anyone tell me when Twilight won't rule the world? It total shit, it gives fiction, especially "magic" fiction a terrible name. Don't talk to me if you want to compare it with the likes of Harry Potter, seriously.
I just wrote this poem, and it's something that was constantly on my mind last night. I don't believe I've done the thought justice, but I will explain when I believe I can. Profound thoughts aren't easiler communicated. This makes me think of one of my favorite books: Siddartha by Herman Heisse. The title character spends his whole life trying to figure out the way of Enlightenment and such. He wants to learn through ascetism, the Buddha, and through love of other people. He ultimately learns when he sits in front of the river and reflects inward on his whole journey. He discovers that one can only understand themselves and that knowledge and WISDOM are rarely communicated; one learns on their own means, and it's a large task to evoke it upon someone else. You may preach, but the full ideal probably is not fully felt. On a personal level atleast.
So there are some thoughts. For now, I'd like to go into Entertainment really quickly. I went to B&N yesterday about a job opportunity, and created a huge book, dvd, and music wishlist. It was a good time : )
Either way, I've learned that there is endless knowledge, and endless ways to happiness: may it be music, literature, verses, or photos (moving or still). People just need to learn their own ways of obtaining it. This is from a liberal arts mind standpoint. This is solely how I feel, but I'm sure many other agree. I'm done, here's to my longest post! Err I just woke up, this is pathetic. Coffee and music is a great thing, you know what I mean.

Currently listening to: Just the Past by Peter Bjorn and John
Ironic title? Haaa
Here's an image that I forgot last post:

Salamanca

I miss this place tremendously, it was my home for nearly three weeks. Salamanca, Espana. It is so historically enriched, beautiful, and the people, food, style, and culture are stunning. That is all!

It's just the inevitable poet in me, cannot hide it.

Endless summer in your life

Currently listening to: Hold Time by M. Ward

He is so peaceful and has the most wonderful lyrics, they make me happy. So here i am, blogging on my first day of summer! I am complaining by no means though, because today has been a very relaxing day. I won't be a narcicist by recounting every little thing I've done, but I will give you a gist of my lazy summer day: sleep in late, breakfast for lunch, read (The Elegance of the Hedgehog), craft, make dinner, movie maybe? This may sound boring, but it's been really enjoyable : )

Random thought of the day: I hate extreme hipsters, did anyone ever tell you that mullets aren't cool. WHO CARES IF NO ONE FUCKING HAS THEM ANYMORE? Okay done, forgive the obscinities.

Bye bye!
